Professional Resources
“The International Center International Visitor Program opens a window onto the world. It provides unique opportunities to glimpse how the rest of the world works and to share our own experiences with our visitors.”
—J. Bradley King, Election Division, Office of the Secretary of State
“It is as always so rewarding to cooperate with the International Center. Our school congratulates you for the positive impact you are doing in our community.”
—Maru Villalta, Forest Glen Elementary School
Each year, the International Center receives a wide variety of requests for professional appointments. We are constantly looking for new resources with an interest in sharing their expertise with their international counterparts. The IVLP enables Indiana residents to dialogue and build relationships with emerging leaders from other countries. These exchanges build bridges of understanding and respect between Americans and people around the world, and give many their first opportunity to experience American culture first-hand. There are no better representatives of our society than our own citizens to offer a distinctly Midwestern point of view.
Our Professional Resources represent many different fields, from community based volunteer organizations, to Fortune 500 companies, to government agencies. Professionals with experience in working in another culture or with a strong interest in other cultures are greatly valued by both ICI and the international professionals with whom we work. Sample topic areas of interest to the IVLP include:
- Agriculture
- Anti Corruption
- Arts Management
- BioTechnology
- Conflict Resolution
- Diversity
