Previous International Citizen of the Year Recipients
The International Citizen of the Year Award was established in 1985 to honor a foreign-born or Indiana resident who has made an outstanding contribution to Indiana and the world in the fields of business, culture, education, government, medicine, research, sports, media and/or community service. The first International Citizen of the Year was the late Riad Shaheen, native of Lebanon, President of Long Electric Company, and President of the Center's Board of Directors.
Since that time, the International Center has gone on to recognize many distinguished recipients of the award. Those recipients are:
