Naturalization Ceremonies
Twice a year, the International Center hosts one of the many naturalization ceremonies that occur throughout the year as part of an initiative to educate youth on the diversity of our community. Students and teachers from around the city are invited to observe the ceremony and experience the celebration of cultural bonding that makes this a diverse community and great nation. For many immigrants, this is the culmination of years of work and study.
Each student who attends the naturalization ceremony receives a Study Guide that outlines the process of becoming a citizen and includes short articles highlighting various countries.
ICI staff are currently visiting classrooms to discuss what it takes to become a U.S. citizen and how we can all work to make Indiana a place that welcomes people of all cultures. If you are interested in having us come into your classroom or talk with your youth organizations, please contact Ansuyah Naiken, 317/955-5150, X226.
