Nonpublic Kindergarten to Grade 12 Schools
Many of Indianapolis’ private schools, both religious and secular, offer extensive college-prep courses in hopes that students arrive at higher education institutions well prepared. The Greater Indianapolis region has a variety of nonpublic schools and systems. They include:
- Private schools, which are administered by an appointed board of directors
- Parochial schools, grouped into school systems operated by religious denominations (the largest school system is operated by the Catholic Church)
In general, nonpublic schools charge tuition fees, do not restrict enrollment according to where students live and may have a religious affiliation.
