International Center Hosts Four Delegations in June

In the month of June, the International Center of Indianapolis hosted four delegations through its International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP).

 

June 23-27-Six visitors from India came to Central Indiana to meet with American studies professionals, learn about U.S. society and culture, and explore the new methods that could help strengthen pedagogy and American studies curricula.

 

June 24-28-A three-member delegation from Philippines visited Indiana to learn about human trafficking prevention techniques, the latest anti-trafficking law enforcement practices, and effective collaboration among human trafficking prevention agencies.

 

June 24-30-Eleven visitors from Africa were in Central Indiana to learn about the media in the U.S. Topics they discussed with Indiana media professionals included principles of American journalism, relationship between the U.S. media and the government, as well as different types of media organizations.

 

June 26-30-Two delegates from Honduras visited Indiana to explore the U.S. prison management system, effective crime prevention techniques, prisoner reentry program and correctional staff training methods.
